Blizzard published its first WoW Forever class deep dive on September 30, 2026.

It covers two classes, Hunter and Druid.

This guide lists every Druid change in that article.

It also adds the Druid items from the beta notes of September 24 and October 1.

We last checked the official pages on October 4, 2026.

We have not tested these changes in the beta ourselves.

Blizzard wants shapeshifting to feel more fluid and useful across more of the game.

In forms, Druids can use more consumables and benefit from weapon effects.

They can also use more objects and racial abilities without leaving form.

Nature's Grasp and Omen of Clarity become baseline abilities.

Lacerate joins the Feral toolkit at level 42.

Revive gives Druids an out-of-combat resurrection at level 12.

Talents open at level 10, with one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points.

A new 16-point milestone joins them.

You change talents at a class trainer in a major city.

Dual Specialization becomes available at level 40.

Blizzard also names the Druid's weaknesses: no snare, no Silence and no Interrupt.

Its crowd control is also weaker and less reliable.

Blizzard notes that class abilities and talents may keep changing throughout the beta.

What changes in Forever

All potions and almost all similar consumables now work in forms.

Using them does not cancel your shapeshift.

Rage potions and Thistle Tea are now usable by Druids as well.

Most Engineering bombs still cannot be used in forms.

Specific new SAF-T and EZ-Thro recipes can be used, though.

Weapon enchantments and procs now all work while shapeshifted.

That includes weightstones, the Crusader enchant and Windfury Totem.

In Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form, auto attack DPS (damage per second) changes.

It now equals the DPS of your equipped weapon.

The attack speed changes to 1.0 or 2.5 seconds depending on the form.

Abilities that deal weapon damage use these values too.

Most doors and objects can be opened and used without cancelling your form.

Racial abilities such as Shadowmeld, War Stomp and Walk on Air now work in forms.

Shapeshifting rules from Blizzard's class deep dive.

Four abilities become baseline.

They are Nature's Grasp (level 10), Revive (level 12), Omen of Clarity (level 20).

The fourth is Lacerate at level 42.

Nature's Grasp can now also be cast in forms and indoors.

With baseline Omen of Clarity, Wrath never consumes the Clearcasting effect.

That is because Wrath's Mana cost is now so low.

Lacerate applies a stacking Bleed for 15 seconds, up to 5 times.

It deals 10% weapon damage per existing stack and generates high threat.

New baseline Druid abilities and the level at which they are learned.

Feral abilities: Claw and Shred deal significantly more damage.

Rake and Swipe gain more from Attack Power.

Swipe still hits 3 targets and works in Bear Form and Dire Bear Form only.

Cower's threat reduction is doubled.

Enrage now generates 10 Rage up front.

With enough Rage, Frenzied Regeneration heals 100% of maximum health over its duration.

Growl's cooldown now matches the Warrior's Taunt.

Demoralizing Roar is tuned close to Demoralizing Shout and identical to it at level 60.

Tiger's Fury is removed and replaced by the new Feral talent Shifting Power.

Balance abilities: Barkskin works in forms, and Entangling Roots can be cast indoors.

Hurricane no longer has a cooldown.

Faerie Fire can be cast in Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form at no resource cost.

In those forms it has a 6 second cooldown.

Thorns now scales with the caster's spell power while the caster is present.

Regrowth costs significantly less Mana.

Its cost now depends more on the upfront heal than on the later ticks.

Wrath is redesigned to cost much less Mana, with much lower damage to match.

Change history: the September 24 beta notes had raised Wrath's base damage by about 50%.

The same notes let Rejuvenation, Tranquility and Wild Growth land critical hits.

They made Thorns update with spell power.

If the caster is missing or too far away, Thorns falls back to its base values.

Mangle was renamed Primal Bite because its signature debuff was removed.

Primal Fury was renamed Blood Frenzy.

Feral Charge (Cat) can no longer be cast on allies.

Druid items from the beta development notes of September 24.

Change history: the October 1 beta build made all shapeshift forms immune to Disarm.

Blizzard's developer note covers a Disarm that lands before you shift.

That Disarm stays in form, and the Druid deals reduced damage until it ends.

Bear Form and Dire Bear Form now generate 75% more Rage on a critical strike.

A bug fix makes Swipe gain 3% of the Druid's attack power as intended.

Blizzard says the tooltip will not show this until a later update.

Faerie Fire no longer resets your swing timer.

The same notes list Tiger's Fury as removed.

Known issue in that build: some debuffs do not cause threat.

Blizzard names Faerie Fire and Demoralizing Shout as examples.

Gold-medal talents are one-point milestone talents at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points in a tree.

Balance gets Nature's Splendor at 11 points; it requires Nature's Majesty.

Balance also gets Insect Swarm at 16 points.

The deep dive does not name the Balance talents at 21 and 31 points.

Feral gets Feral Charge at 11 points and two talents at 16 points.

The two 16-point talents are Shifting Power for Cat and Primal Bite for Bear.

Feral then gets Leader of the Pack at 21 points and Berserk at 31 points.

Restoration gets Gift of the Earthmother at 11 points and Swiftmend at 16 points.

Wild Growth comes at 31 points; the article does not name a 21-point talent.

Gold-medal talents named in the deep dive. “Not named” means the article does not name that milestone.

Insect Swarm moves from Restoration to Balance.

It deals Nature damage over 12 seconds and lowers the target's chance to hit.

Primal Bite requires Savage Fury and costs 20 Rage in Bear or Dire Bear Form.

It deals 100% weapon damage plus a bonus and generates very high threat.

Blizzard chose it instead of Mangle.

On October 1, Blizzard roughly doubled the threat Primal Bite generates.

Shifting Power requires Shredding Attacks.

It has been in the beta since the October 1 build.

It works in Cat Form only, on a 16 second cooldown.

It instantly converts 55% of your base Mana into 40 Energy.

That is the same Mana cost as Cat Form.

Effects that reduce the cost of shapeshifting also reduce the cost of Shifting Power.

Improved Shifting Power requires Shifting Power; the deep dive puts it in row 5.

Its two ranks cut the cooldown by 4 or 8 seconds.

At full rank that gives the 8 second cooldown named in the deep dive (16 minus 8).

Berserk lasts 15 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown in Bear, Cat or Dire Bear Form.

It clears and grants immunity to Fear.

It removes Primal Bite's cooldown and lets it hit up to 3 nearby targets.

It also raises the critical strike chance of Cat Form combo abilities by 100%.

Wild Growth places a heal over time on the target's whole party, pets included.

It ticks every 1 second for 7 seconds and gets weaker each second.

It has a 6 second cooldown and a high Mana cost.

Swiftmend moves from row 7 to row 4.

It no longer consumes Rejuvenation or Regrowth.

Balance changes: Improved Wrath also lowers Wrath's Mana cost.

Moonglow moves to row 2 and covers all damaging spells, but no longer healing.

Improved Moonfire costs 2 talent points instead of 5.

Nature's Reach moves to row 2 and adds hit chance for all damaging spells.

Improved Entangling Roots moves to row 3.

It now adds damage and makes the roots harder to break.

Vengeance and Moonfury now apply to all damaging spells.

Nature's Grace now lasts 3 seconds and grants spell haste.

It also shortens the global cooldown.

New Balance talents: Genesis (row 1) and Nature's Majesty (row 2).

Overgrowth (row 5) lets Entangling Roots affect up to 3 targets.

Eclipse (row 5) is new as well.

Casting Wrath shortens the cast time of your next 2 Starfire casts.

Eclipse stacks up to 4 charges.

Moonkin Form's party critical strike bonus now applies to all spells and attacks.

It does not stack with Leader of the Pack.

Moonkin Form lets you cast all non-healing spells.

It also doubles the chance to trigger Omen of Clarity.

Feral changes: Heart of the Wild moves from row 6 to row 1.

Feral Swiftness moves to row 2.

Its Dodge bonus is active in every form, and its Cat Form speed works indoors.

Balance talent changes in the deep dive.

Feral Instinct no longer increases threat in Bear Form.

It now boosts Swipe damage instead.

Thick Hide now adds Armor in Bear, Cat, Dire Bear and Moonkin Form.

The bonus is based on Defense skill bonuses from buffs and gear.

Each form's own Armor multiplier can raise that Armor further.

So Druid tanks now benefit from Defense items.

Savage Fury moves to row 3 and also covers Shred, but its damage increase is lower.

Sharpened Claws costs 2 points instead of 3.

Brutal Impact also lowers Bash's cooldown.

Ferocity now also applies to Primal Bite.

Shredding Attacks (formerly Improved Shred) lowers Shred's Energy cost by more.

It also lowers Lacerate's Rage cost.

In the October 1 build it is still in row 4.

The October 1 notes tie Shifting Power to Shredding Attacks in the 4th row.

Moving it to row 3 is only the plan from the September 30 deep dive.

Feral Charge also gets a Cat Form version with a 30 second cooldown.

That version does not interrupt or immobilize.

Blood Frenzy combines the old Primal Fury and Blood Frenzy into one 2-point talent.

Predatory Strikes is new and adds up to 20% critical strike damage.

Natural Reaction is new: more Dodge and a chance to gain 5 Rage on each Dodge.

Rend and Tear is new and adds melee damage against bleeding targets.

Restoration changes: Nature's Focus moves to row 1.

It now covers all Arcane and Nature spells.

Naturalist (formerly Improved Healing Touch) also adds damage.

Natural Shapeshifter moves from Balance to row 2 of Restoration.

Feral talent changes in the deep dive and the October 1 build.

Subtlety moves to row 2 and costs 3 points instead of 5.

It now reduces threat from all Arcane and Nature spells by up to 30%.

Furor at 5 points lets you regenerate Energy outside Cat Form as if you were in it.

You lose all of that Energy when you shift into Bear Form.

Blizzard says this prevents bear-weaving.

It says Shifting Power brings back power shifting in a more approachable way.

Reflection gives much more Mana regeneration while casting.

Gift of Nature moves to row 3.

Improved Tranquility cuts Tranquility's cooldown by up to 60%.

Living Spirit (row 5) raises Spirit.

Improved Regrowth now requires Improved Rejuvenation.

Gift of the Earthmother shortens three global cooldowns by 0.5 sec.

They are Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth.

Now baseline, so no longer talents: Improved Thorns, Omen of Clarity, Nature's Grasp.

The same goes for Feral Faerie Fire, Improved Mark of the Wild and Improved Enrage.

Feral Aggression is removed, but its Demoralizing Roar improvement is now baseline.

Restoration talentChange

Wild GrowthNew, 31 pointsparty heal over 7 seconds

Restoration talent changes in the deep dive.

Merged: Natural Weapons into Naturalist, Primal Fury into Blood Frenzy.

Moved: Natural Shapeshifter to Restoration and Insect Swarm to Balance.

The October 1 build also removed the King of the Jungle talent.

The notes do not describe what it did.

Status on October 1: Shifting Power and Improved Shifting Power are in the beta.

Shredding Attacks, its prerequisite, sits in row 4 in that build.

The October 1 notes do not list the move to row 3 announced on September 30.

Leveling

The deep dive gives no official leveling route or leveling talent build for Druids.

It does give level milestones that change how a Druid plays while leveling.

At level 10 you get talents and baseline Nature's Grasp.

Nature's Grasp now also works in forms and indoors.

At level 12 you learn Revive.

You no longer need someone else to resurrect party members after combat.

At level 20 Omen of Clarity becomes baseline, so it costs no talent point.

At level 40 Dual Specialization becomes available.

At level 42 you learn Lacerate as a new baseline ability.

Entangling Roots now works indoors, and Hurricane has no cooldown.

That matters in caves and packed camps.

Our reading, not Blizzard's: potions no longer break forms.

That makes it easier to stay in Cat or Bear Form through pulls.

Each talent change still costs a trip to a class trainer in a major city.

Stat priority

Blizzard has not published a stat priority for any Druid specialization in Forever.

The deep dive does describe which stats several abilities now use.

We list those here instead of guessing a ranking.

StatWhere the deep dive uses itPriority
Attack PowerRake, Swipe (3% since October 1)Not published
Spell powerThornsNot published
Defense skillThick Hide armor for tanksNot published
Critical strikeMoonkin Form, Leader of the PackNot published
SpiritLiving Spirit, ReflectionNot published

Stat effects named in the deep dive. The ranking itself is not published.

Rake and Swipe gain more damage from Attack Power.

Since a bug fix in the October 1 build, Swipe gains 3% of the Druid's attack power.

Thorns now scales with the caster's spell power.

Thick Hide turns Defense skill bonuses from buffs and gear into extra Armor in forms.

Moonkin Form and Leader of the Pack raise critical strike chance for all attacks.

That covers all spells too, but the two bonuses do not stack.

Living Spirit raises Spirit.

Reflection adds much more Mana regeneration while casting.

We will add a priority only when Blizzard or final tuning makes one verifiable.

Gear

Your weapon now matters in forms.

Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form auto attacks use your equipped weapon's DPS.

Attack speed is set to 1.0 or 2.5 seconds depending on the form.

Weapon-damage abilities such as Lacerate and Primal Bite use these values.

Weapon enchantments and procs, such as Crusader and weightstones, now work in forms.

For Bear tanks, Defense skill on gear now also adds Armor through Thick Hide.

Each form's Armor multiplier can raise that Armor further.

So Defense items help Druid tanks as they help other tank classes.

Since the October 1 build, forms are immune to Disarm.

A Disarm that lands before you shift stays and lowers your damage until it ends.

Blizzard has not published Druid gear lists, and we do not name best-in-slot items.

Recommended professions

Blizzard does not recommend professions for Druids.

So we only point out what the class changes touch.

Potions and almost all similar consumables no longer cancel your form.

Rage potions now work for Druids too.

Most Engineering bombs still cannot be used in forms.

Blizzard names new SAF-T and EZ-Thro recipes that can.

Weightstones now work on a shapeshifted Druid's weapon.

Our reading: Feral Druids who rely on potions or bombs gain more from Alchemy.

The same goes for Engineering, but no official source ranks the two.

Addons and macros

The deep dive names no Druid addons or macros.

The September 24 beta notes let Druids test the new Cooldown Manager.

The Cooldown Manager is off by default.

You turn it on under Options in the Gameplay Enhancement settings.

It does not support spell ranks yet.

The same notes add a shapeshift flyout for Druids to the gamepad action bar.

Our reading: potions, racials, Barkskin, Nature's Grasp and Faerie Fire work in forms.

So fewer macros are needed to leave and re-enter a form.

Community reaction, from our daily data of October 1, 2026, on Blizzard's U.S. forums:

A Feral Druid tanking feedback thread had 75 replies and 51 likes.

A thread asking whether Bear Form has a threat bonus had 44 replies.

The most-upvoted Feral thread on r/classicwow in our October 3, 2026 data:

It was posted on October 2 and had 991 upvotes and 893 comments.

It argued against power shifting as the core of Feral play.

In the same data, a U.S. forum thread criticising the Feral changes had 76 replies.

That thread also had 159 likes.

The deep dive does not say whether Bear Form has a passive threat bonus.

It does name Lacerate (high threat) and Primal Bite (very high threat).

It also removes the threat bonus from Feral Instinct.

The October 1 notes do not answer the question either.

They did roughly double Primal Bite's threat.

They also list a known issue: Faerie Fire and Demoralizing Shout cause no threat.
